The Executive Director (ED) and Board of Operation Freedom Paws needed a facilitator for their annual two-day Board Retreat. They hired Jenn LeBlanc to facilitate, with a special focus on role definition and communication skills.
Jenn began the retreat by having the group list their desired outcomes for the retreat, which became two full flipcharts of items. By the end of the retreat, the group had achieved all of those objectives, including building a 3-year strategic plan with agreement on a high-level budget. At the close of the retreat, the group formed a list of post-retreat items to accomplish and most of those were completed within 30 days of the retreat, including several items that had previously been stalled for months.
The board was delighted with the productivity of the retreat and the ED, Mary Cortani, commented on Jenn’s “energy and ability to keep us all in check” so that they could achieve their goals and move the organization forward quickly and smoothly.
