Lazarex Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization that improves the outcome of cancer care for advanced stage cancer patients and the medically underserved. This important nonprofit helps patients identify promising FDA clinical trials to treat their cancer and provides financial assistance, when needed, with costs associated with trial participation. Uncovered, out of pocket costs all too often are financial barriers that prevent patients from participating or remaining in a clinical trial. To date, Lazarex patients have lived over 767 years through participation in FDA clinical trials AFTER they were told nothing else could be done!
Lazarex came to the ThinkResults team with a long list of marketing requests, starting with improving their newsletter. They wanted an updated, modern look to go along with more engaging content in order to connect better with their community and increase donations. The ThinkResults team provided Lazarex’s fall newsletter with a complete facelift.
Our main redesign objectives were to make it more visual, shorten the stories to make the main messages pop more, and highlight that Lazarex depends on funding from individuals in order to be able to provide hope and life to advanced stage cancer patients.
We found success in our first newsletter with the open rate reaching 26%. This comes as a major boost in comparison to their summer and spring newsletters, which had rates of 20% and 16% respectively. The newsletter also contributed to a very successful online fundraising drive, raising over $100,000. We look forward to future success with the Lazarex team.
