Most recent assignments include supporting the President/COO of Hansen Medical,
a publicly traded medical device company, from 2007 to 2009. Major
accomplishments at Hansen Medical included establishing all admin procedures and
processes for the newly created office of the President/COO; organized the
Investor Relations function; coordinated and participated in
annual Strategic Planning offsite for 38 people.
From 2001 to 2007, Barbara
supported the President/CEO of
Nektar Therapeutics, a publicly
traded company. Nektar was the
first company to develop an
inhalable insulin powder product
approved by the FDA. Barbara’s
major accomplishments included
development and implementation
of an employee photo database
for the company’s intranet;
re-defined Board Book production
to save 50% in prep time;
created centralized information
database accessible by CEO and
his staff; coordinated 4 to 5
All Hands Meetings per year.
From 1999 to 2001, Barbara
supported the
Founder/President/CEO of
CareerCentral.com, a privately
held Internet-based executive
search firm. Company grew from
50 to 90 employees during
tenure. From 1996 to 1999,
Barbara supported the
President/CEO of Metra
Biosystems, a publicly traded
medical diagnostics company that
developed a bone density test
for osteoporosis. Prior to
these assignments, Barbara
supported the CEO of a CAD
software company, and the
Founder/President/CEO of a
marketing research consulting
firm specializing in site
selection for retail stores.
Barbara lives on the
mid-Peninsula, has three grown
daughters, and in her spare time
can be found out on the links
playing a round of golf.
